Portreath offers a busy Atlantic beach that adjoins a small working harbour which, in turn, is enclosed by rock pools and steep cliffs. The resort incorporates many facilities and serves both visitors and residents from the nearby towns of Camborne and Redruth.
This is a popular beach with families who are looking for a fun day out by the sea. It’s also one of the most popular surf beaches in the South West and benefits from good Atlantic swells.

A spectacular 1km sandy beach with a Mediterranean feel
Gently sloping sand and safe swimming make this beach a popular destination for families. Activities on the water include surfing, wind surfing and canoeing. Surfboard hire is also available at the beach.
This beach has great views across the bay and is ideal for sunbathing and beach games. Swimming is good but you should stay between the flags and avoid the estuary. There are also good walks across the dunes (The Towans) if you want to get away from the beach.
The beach is popular with families and surfers and is located in An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are good coastal walks from the beach but if you are walking along the beach you should be careful of the tide.
