Lovely pebble beach beneath spectacular red cliffs.
Budleigh Salterton is situated in the centre of a beautiful bay on the western side of the river Otter estuary. The beach consists of fat, round bun-like pebbles and is overlooked at the western edge by high red cliffs. Though the beach is quite steep, the swimming is safe. Those looking for a sandy foreshore should take a short walk westwards to the small sheltered beach at Littleham Cove.
A walk up the sandstone cliffs gives outstanding views of Budleigh Salterton and across Lyme Bay and will lead you to Sandy Bay and Exmouth.
