Towan is a safe family beach with lifeguard cover during the summer season. It is also popular with swimmers, surfers and body boarders due to the protective westerly swells.
There is good disabled access and beach facilities include toilets, cafes, surfboard hire, deck chair hire, lifeguard cover and first aid. There are also car parks within a 5 to 10 minute walk.
